Noises in the night, impossible to ignore; the boy awakes. He treads softly, approaching the call. Sifting. A muffled hint of creation arises from the vulnerable position. One monstrous view- Adam enjoying Eve, one-eyed snake intruding. Something’s wrong. He runs out into the night, crying. Two outlines appear at the garden gate, motioning, covered. “Connor!” they scream. No response. A slight itch for Adam remains, grieved yearning, primal instincts butting heads. Outside the garden, the boy rushes in search of an answer. A voice speaks from above. “Cain, The marital bed is the knowledge of Evil; you will create like your fathers before you.” Denying the apple, the boy returns, enters the gates, knowing where the angel’s sword is kept. Footsteps, then, “Connor, what are you doing?” becomes the belated plea. A heap hits the floor, the bloodline is paused.
